Cold Callers |
||
|
There has been a number of incidents in Stafford where cold callers are knocking on resident's doors, offering to do work on properties where work has either not been carried out of done to a low standard and residents have been charged a lot more than originally quoted. Rogue traders often target householders by knocking on doors and offering services such as roofing repairs, driveway maintenance, gardening work, gutter cleaning or property improvements. They may claim that urgent work is required, use high-pressure sales tactics, or demand payment for poor-quality or unnecessary work. Residents are advised to: Anyone who feels threatened or believes they have been targeted by a rogue trader should report the matter to the police. If a crime is in progress or there is an immediate risk to someone's safety, call 999. Non-emergency concerns can be reported by calling 101 or through the Staffordshire Police website. | ||
